The appearance came only 48 hours after Woods resolved the legal case connected to his March rollover crash in Florida.

Tiger returned to Stanford after court appearance

Woods appeared at the Martin County Courthouse on Wednesday and accepted a plea agreement in the case that began after his March 27 crash near his Jupiter Island home.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner pleaded no contest to a reduced reckless-driving charge, while the DUI charge was dropped. His driver’s license was suspended for five years and he was ordered to pay $1,500 in fines.

The judge also gave Woods a clear warning about driving during the suspension, telling him there would be serious consequences if he ignored the order.

The case followed a crash in which Woods’ Land Rover clipped a truck and rolled onto its side. No one was injured. Authorities said alcohol was not detected, although Woods had prescription pain medication in his possession and officers reported signs that led to the original DUI arrest.

The legal matter has now been resolved, and his appearance at Stanford was the first notable public sighting after the hearing.

Stanford is an important place in Woods’ story. He enrolled at the university in 1994 and spent two years there before turning professional in 1996.

His college career was short but very successful. Woods won 11 tournaments for Stanford, was a first-team All-American in both seasons and won the NCAA individual championship in 1996.

That connection made his attendance at the football game feel quite natural. This time he was simply there as a supporter, although cameras quickly found one of the most famous athletes Stanford has ever produced.

Questions about Woods’ golf future remain

The public appearance also comes at a time when golf fans continue to wonder what Woods plans to do next.

He turned 50 in December 2025, which made him eligible for PGA Tour Champions. That created immediate interest in whether the American could play more regularly on the senior circuit, where carts are allowed at many events and the schedule can be less demanding.
