Brooks Koepka’s season

Brooks Koepka has had mixed and rather disappointing results on the PGA Tour this season, after making a shocking comeback to the PGA Tour after leaving the LIV League late last year.

Although he expressed great satisfaction to be part of the traditional Tour again and that he enjoys the daily battle on the course, his game is far from the level he was at when he won his Major titles.

In 15 appearances on the PGA Tour so far this season, Koepka does not have a single victory. His season is summarized through several key statistics. His best result of the season was 9th place at the Cognizant Classic tournament, achieved at the end of March.

Out of 15 tournaments played, he missed five cuts and withdrew from the tournament once. He finished tournaments outside the top 25 more times than inside them.

While his iron game remains top-notch, putting is a big problem and he’s only 115th on Tour, keeping him from fighting for the very top.

He was not competitive this year in the tournaments he likes the most and where he built his history. At the Masters Tournament, he finished as T12, that is, he shared 12th place. At The Open Championship, he finished T28 with a -2 overall score, while at the PGA Championship he finished 55th. At the U.S. Open, he did not make the cut after having a score of +10 after two days.

In June, Koepka had to withdraw from the RBC Canadian Open due to a wrist injury. He is currently ranked 82nd in the FedExCup standings, which means he is outside of the top 70 «bubble» heading into the playoffs.
