Giorgio Regoli (Parco di Roma), tenth with a 219 (76, 68, 75, +9), delivered a strong performance in the English Boys’ Under-14 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, also known as the Reid Trophy. The youth tournament, now in its 31st year, was held on the challenging par-70 Porters Park Golf Club course in Radlett, Hertfordshire, England, where no competitor achieved an overall score under par.

The match was decided on the final hole when Frenchman Alan Rode, the current leader, made a double bogey and was overtaken by England’s Marcus Karim, who finished with a par and won with a 212 (70, 71, 71, +2).

Rode finished in second place with a 213 (+3), tied with fellow Englishman Freddie Buck. In fourth place with a score of 214 (+4), was Ireland’s Tom Doyle, fifth with a score of 215 (+5), Spain’s Sergio Vargas Tejerina and France’s Maxence Dennetiere, and seventh with a score of 216 (+6).

Of the other Italian athletes, Samuele Pollastri (Modena) placed 18th with a score of 222 (70 79 73, +12), Elia Secomandi (Bergamo L’Albenza) 31st with a score of 225 (74 71 80, +15), and Riccardo Rizzo (Lecco) 36th with a score of 226 (77 75 74, +16). Antonio Strano (Sicilia’s Picciolo), 119th with a 162 (79 83, +22), and Giorgio Lopes (Bogogno), 121st with a 163 (84 79, +23), made the cut after 36 holes. Coach Giovanni Magni and coach Ettore Ghinelli were with the team.
