Pau Gasol hosted the charity golf tournament benefiting the Gasol Foundation today; the event was organized by Santander Private Banking to promote children’s health and help reduce inequalities. The Santander Golf Club in Boadilla del Monte once again hosted this charity event, which—for another year—raised funds to encourage healthy habits among children.

“It has become a regular fixture on the calendar—this is our third consecutive edition here with Santander Private Banking, and we are very happy. People come in a relaxed mood to enjoy themselves and support the cause and our foundation. It is always a pleasant day,” Pau Gasol explained during the tournament.

The event brought together friends, Santander Private Banking clients, representatives from the sports world, and journalists. Participants included, among others, Sergio Rodríguez and Raúl González. For Pau, the gathering is also an opportunity to introduce the foundation’s work to people who want to learn about its projects firsthand.

“There are many friends and people who want to learn about our work—many Santander private banking clients—as well as friends from the press who might work the afternoon or evening shift and can slip away to play a little golf,” he noted.

Regarding the origins of this partnership, Gasol highlighted his long-standing relationship with Santander and the mutual desire to drive shared initiatives. “Communication is key, as is creating initiatives of common interest that add value—in this case, supporting our foundation. Ultimately, it takes many factors to do things right,” he stated.

The Gasol Foundation works to reduce childhood obesity—an issue that currently affects one in three children in Spain—through health promotion programs, research, and awareness-raising initiatives.
