He admitted it was a surprise when the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) confirmed on April 30th that it was withdrawing from the LIV project, launched in 2022 as a competitor to the two traditional tours, the American PGA Tour and the European DP World Tour.

«We were surprised that they withdrew so quickly. We didn’t expect it. But it’s okay. When one door closes, another opens. I think many of us see it that way. We’re all optimistic and believe there’s a viable business plan for team golf,» he remarked.

According to DeChambeau, 32, currently ranked 32nd in the world, he is «very optimistic» about the business plan for team golf, an innovation of LIV.

«We have a couple of ideas, in fact, quite a few ideas that could be interesting. We’ll see if the investors like them or not.
