The tournament will once again feature two parallel competitions: the individual event, with 57 golfers, and the team competition involving the league’s 13 squads, each with four members. It is being played at the Golf and Country Club in Rocester, a par-72 course that opened in 2018. Chilean golfer Joaquín Niemann won the English leg of the LIV tour in 2025, while Rahm himself won it in 2024.

However, there is a lingering feeling in the air that Rahm could be the final champion of a tour born from the financial abundance of its primary backer, the PIF (Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund). That backing is now faltering, with the sponsor’s departure confirmed for 2027 and no viable replacement found to keep the business afloat. The Basque champion confirmed he is privy to information but cannot disclose it. He did not appear particularly happy. «We know a lot of what is going on. The thing is, I can’t share it with you right now,» he stated at the pre-event press conference. When asked if he expects to continue playing next year on the tour, which launched in 2022, Rahm insisted: «I can’t share anything I know at the moment.» If Rahm does not seal his victory on the 2026 circuit here, he will have three more events left to do so—likely the last in the circuit’s history—in New York (August 6–9), Indianapolis (August 20–23), and Michigan (August 27–30).
