Tranlate this title Keegan Bradley accused of verbally attacking official during Ryder Cup in spanish

Keegan Bradley has been accused of verbally attacking a rules official during last year’s Ryder Cup, with new claims suggesting that his behavior left the official unwilling to work at the tournament again.

The former Team USA captain had a difficult experience at Bethpage Black in September 2025, where the Americans suffered a 15-13 defeat against Europe.

Although the home team almost completed a comeback on the final day, Bradley has faced criticism for some of his decisions during the tournament.

Now, PGA professional Chandler Withington has made new claims about the 40-year-old American and his treatment of rules official Jeff Kiddie.

Speaking on the Musings on Golf podcast, Withington claimed that Bradley confronted Kiddie several times during Sunday’s singles competition.

The incident reportedly happened during the match between Cameron Young and Justin Rose, when the Englishman needed assistance from an official after his ball finished near a hospitality structure.

Kiddie was attempting to find a suitable place for Rose to take relief, but the process took longer than expected.

Withington explained that both captains were following the situation closely, with the Americans making a comeback at that stage.

«Jeff’s sweating, but he’s doing his thing. And he said ‘I’ve gone back and watched it ten times, and there’s nothing I can do to get ten seconds off that process.’ It’s just what it is,» Withington said.

According to the PGA professional, Bradley was furious about the delay and confronted Kiddie after the situation was resolved.

«Keegan Bradley goes over to Jeff and goes, ‘The **** are you doing up here? You’re ******* up our whole deal man, we’re making this comeback and you’re up here ******* around?’ Just undresses him,» Withington claimed.

The former American captain allegedly continued criticizing the official as the players moved to the next hole.

«They ride down 15, Keegan rides up to him in the fairway he goes, ‘You see what you ******* did back there? We’re going to win this ******* thing and you’re ******* it up over here.’ Undresses him again. Gets him at the green, again, third time.»

Withington stressed that Kiddie was a respected PGA professional who had worked hard to earn the opportunity to officiate at the Ryder Cup.

He claimed that the experience left the official with no desire to return.

«So Jeff Kiddie’s like, between the things that I’ve heard said to the players on Saturday and this, I don’t want to be involved in the Ryder Cup ever again.»

These are allegations made by Withington, and Bradley’s account of the reported exchanges has not been established.

Bradley previously spoke about his Ryder Cup disappointment

The American captain received a lot of criticism after Europe won the first four sessions at Bethpage Black.

Luke Donald’s team held an 11.5-4.5 advantage before Sunday’s singles, leaving the United States needing a historic comeback.

Bradley’s players responded by taking 8.5 points on the final day, but Europe held on to win the trophy for the second consecutive time.

Young defeated Rose 1-up in the opening singles match, with the American making a birdie on the final hole.

Bradley was delighted with his players’ effort, although he also accepted responsibility for the defeat.

«They showed the world today that, really, anything is possible. That was a coin flip there for a second,» Bradley said after the competition.

«Never more proud of anything in my life.»

The former captain later admitted that the defeat had been difficult to forget.

Speaking before the PGA Championship in May 2026, Bradley explained that he was finally starting to feel better about what happened.

«It was tough after the Ryder Cup and it still is. I’ll be driving down the road and things will pop into my head and think about things I had done or wish I had done different,» he said.

«Getting back out here and getting in the routine, I’m playing some better golf and I’m starting to feel a little bit more like myself out there, and I’m feeling a little bit more separated from Bethpage.»

Team USA preparing for another Ryder Cup

The Americans have already started preparing for the next Ryder Cup, which will take place at Adare Manor in Ireland in 2027.

Jim Furyk has been appointed as the new American captain, while Donald will once again lead Europe.

Furyk recently discussed the changes he wants to make after Team USA’s difficulties in foursomes over the last two Ryder Cups.

The Americans have won only three of their last 16 matches in that format, and the new captain believes improvements are necessary.

He also plans to introduce a different qualification system and work with a new analytics team.

The United States has not won a Ryder Cup on European soil since 1993, when Tom Watson led the team to victory at The Belfry in England.

Bradley previously represented his country as a player in 2012 and 2014 before getting the opportunity to captain the team in New York.

The next Ryder Cup will be held in September 2027, with the Americans hoping to end their long wait for an away victory.
