Tranlate this title Jon Rahm will not play in the Spanish Open in spanish

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm will not compete in the Spanish Open, which begins this Thursday in Madrid, as he awaits the birth of his fourth child, that will be a girl, in the United States, tournament sources told EFE.

Rahm, statements

Rahm had made it clear months ago that his participation in Madrid would depend on his daughter having already been born and both the baby and the mother, Kelley Cahill, being in good health. Consequently, he has opted not to play in the tournament—part of the DP World Tour (the European golf circuit)—which runs through Sunday at the Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. This marks the first time the former world number one has missed the Spanish Open; he previously won the event in 2018, 2019, and 2022—setting the tournament’s all-time lowest score—and finished second after a playoff in 2024. And this is all about the future of Jon Rahm and his agenda for the next events.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard regulations and procedures governing how the sport is played. They are jointly drafted and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews—the governing body for golf worldwide, excluding the United States and Mexico, which fall under the jurisdiction of the United States Golf Association (USGA). An expert committee comprising members from both the R&A and the USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years; the most recent revision has been in effect since January 1, 2016. Amendments to the rules generally fall into two main categories: those that improve clarity and understanding, and those that—in certain instances—reduce penalties to ensure fairness. The rulebook, titled «Rules of Golf,» is published regularly and also includes regulations governing amateur status. In Italy, the Italian Golf Federation (Federgolf) is responsible for overseeing competitions and enforcing the rules issued by the R&A, ensuring compliance by clubs, associations, and their registered members, while also managing related disciplinary matters and safeguarding their interests abroad.
