This triumph in Åhus propels him to the top of the Road to Mallorca standings and puts him in excellent position for promotion to the DP World Tour in the 2027 season.

«This August has been fantastic for me. I’ve played some great golf and hope to maintain this level until the end of the season. It’s the first time I’ve won at home in front of my family, and it means a lot,» said Blomstrand. The 34-year-old started tied for first with Lundgren. After the latter dropped the hole at the 2nd, Blomstrand took the lead. An eagle on the par-5 8th (also made on Saturday) gave him a two-shot advantage. Lundgren closed the gap with a birdie at the 10th, and a Blomstrand error at the 12th brought the two back to a tie with six holes remaining. In the decisive phase, the Swede made the difference: a great approach at the 15th for birdie and a precise wedge at the 17th for another gain. He closed with a comfortable par on the final hole. “I was trying to play smart at the start, I was feeling tired. The eagle on the 8th was a key moment. The only missed shot was on the 12th, but then I made some good shots on the 14th and 17th. I was a little nervous, David was playing well and Wilco was recovering, so I knew I had to step up my game. I’m happy with the final birdies that gave me a two-shot lead on the last hole,” he added. Germany’s Hurly Long also finished with a 67 and finished fourth at 7-back, one shot ahead of Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent, Denmark’s Jonathan Gøth-Rasmussen, and Netherlands’ Wil Besseling (tied for fifth).

Among the Italians, Luca Cavalli finished 25th at 1-back (72-69-68-70). Lorenzo Scalise, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, Luca Memeo, Flavio Michetti, Matteo Cristoni, and Aron Zemmer all failed to make the cut.

The HotelPlanner Tour returns to Sweden this week for the Dormy Open by Creekhouse, scheduled for August 27-30, 2026, at the Kristianstad Golf Club & Destination in Åhus, in the south of the country, a few kilometers from the Danish border. This is the 106th time the circuit has visited Sweden, second only to France in terms of the number of stops hosted in the Tour’s history. It represents an important stop on the Road to Mallorca 2026, with valuable points for promotion to the DP World Tour and a prize pool of €300,000 up for grabs.

Kristianstad Golf Club makes its official debut on the Road to Mallorca. In the past, it has hosted the European Women’s Amateur Championship, the Kristianstad Ladies Open, and stops on the Ladies European Tour. Founded in 1924, the club initially had a 9-hole course on the Rinkaby military grounds; it moved to its current location in Åhus in 1940 and completed the 18-hole layout in 1969. About ten years ago, Pierre Fulke and Adam Mednickson oversaw a major redesign of the East Course, now considered among the best in Sweden.

The club has a strong tradition in women’s golf: players such as Anna Berg, Mia Löjdahl, Sara Eklund, and Sarah Nilsson, who later went on to star on the Ladies European Tour, have emerged from it. Thirty-four-year-old Christofer Blomstrand has rediscovered his best form, securing his second win of the season in Scotland in early August and a runner-up finish in Durban. Adam Wallin is ranked in the top 20 in his rookie season, while Charlie Lindh, 29, has yet to drop out of the top 20.
