South African Casandra Alexander dominated the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, a Ladies European Tour event held in Straffan, Ireland, at The Kildare Hotel & Golf Club, better known as The K Club. The two courses, North and South, were designed by the late champion Arnold Palmer, and the par-72 second was played.

The top scorer led the way, finishing with a 268 (63, 66, 69, 70, -20) round. With a 70 (-2, five birdies, three bogeys), she held off Czech Sara Kouskova, who chased her in vain in the final two rounds, finishing second with a 271 (-17).

Alessandra Fanali maintained a strong pace, finishing eleventh with a 276 (67 72 67 70, -12) after consistently being in the top ten (second in the opening round) and then narrowly missing out with a 70 (four birdies, two bogeys), which, however, does not detract from her merits. In 35th place with a 284 (71 72 70 71, -4) was Roberta Liti, a fairly consistent scorer, making the most of her extensive experience on the US circuit.

In fourth place with a 273 (-15) were Ireland’s Leona Maguire and Sweden’s Louise Rydqvist, and in sixth place with a 275 (-13) were fellow Swedes Moa Folke, Corinne Viden, and Kajsa Arwefjall, Singapore’s Shannon Tan, and New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey. Joining Fanali were Englishwoman Lily May Humphreys, Germans Patricia Isabel Schmidt and Alexandra Forsterling, and American Brianna Navarrosa.

Casandra Alexander, 27, from Johannesburg, finally secured her first LET victory of the year, her second after the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open (2025), adding to a list of victories that also includes six on the Sunshine Ladies Tour. In an excellent season, in her previous fourteen appearances (a total of 105 events), she has collected ten top-ten finishes (four runner-ups). For her feat, she was rewarded with the first prize of €67,500 from a prize pool of €450,000.

Alessia Nobilio, 61st with 145 (73 72, +1), and Anna Zanusso, 101st with 149 (76 73, +5), went out at the cut, falling to 144 (par).
