However, two pills of a powerful analgesic (hydrocodone) were found in his pocket. Because of this carelessness, he did not register at all that the truck in front of him started to brake, which led to the inevitable impact. He also denied consuming alcohol and explained that his difficult movements and limp were the result of more than twenty previous operations on his back and leg.

A few days after the accident, Tiger Woods made an official statement on social media, confirming that he was temporarily stepping away from the sport.

Woods publicly admitted that the situation in which he found himself was extremely critical, which is why he made the decision to temporarily stop his golf career in order to undergo professional therapy and rehabilitate his health problems.

He emphasized that his personal health is currently his top priority and that this step is the only way to achieve a complete and long-term recovery.

After the car accident and arrest at the end of March, the judge allowed him to go abroad for treatment. Woods chose an exclusive clinic near Zurich to ensure complete privacy, which he would not have in the US. There, he began a 90-day treatment program focused on recovery and chronic pain management therapy without the use of dangerous and addictive opioids.

In mid-May, his private jet landed at Palm Beach Airport. At first, the public did not know the reason for stopping therapy, but a few days later his partner Vanessa Trump (former daughter-in-law of Donald Trump) publicly announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. A source close to the couple confirmed that Tiger came exclusively to be by her side in the most difficult moments, and she called him her «strength» on social media.

After spending ten days with the family and providing Vanessa with the first support, Tiger’s plane took off again from Florida and landed in Zurich.

Since he has a court hearing coming up in July and wants to permanently solve his health problems, he made the decision to return to the clinic immediately and complete the remaining part of intensive psychological and physical therapy.
