From September 11th to 13th, Europe and the United States will once again face off in three heated days, where being good won’t be enough. It’ll take a team.

Nordqvist arrives with an impressive resume: 35 matches played in nine editions and a wealth of experience in Europe-US matches. The Swede has chosen a team that mixes experienced players like Charley Hull, Leona Maguire, and Carlota Ciganda with young rookies like Julia López Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud, and Mimi Rhodes.

And then there’s Lottie Woad, an automatic qualifier and ready to experience her first Solheim Cup.

Nordqvist’s philosophy is clear: when choosing pairs, numbers aren’t the only thing that matters. Chemistry is key.

Because when the pressure is on, knowing you can trust your partner can make all the difference.

On the other hand, Stanford is relying on a mix of data analysis and instinct. The United States can count on world No. 1 Nelly Korda, as well as highly experienced players like Rose Zhang and Megan Khang.

The rookies will be Auston Kim and Lindy Duncan.

Bernardus Golf is another major newcomer. Opened in 2018 and designed by Kyle Phillips, it has already hosted three Dutch Opens on the DP World Tour. It’s a heathland-style course, with plenty of water and numerous holes where making the right decision could be decisive.

A course that seems tailor-made for match play: taking risks when necessary, attacking when it pays, and above all, staying calm.

The United States has won 11 of the 19 Solheim Cups ever played. Europe has seven, with one draw.
But beware: the Europeans have won three of the last four editions, and the Americans haven’t won a Solheim Cup played in Europe since 2015.

In 2024, the USA regained the trophy, winning 15.5-12.5. Now Europe is looking for revenge.

And the Dutch stage could be the perfect setting to write another chapter in this rivalry.

Friday and Saturday will feature foursomes and fourball. On Sunday, it’s all hands on deck for the singles.

Twenty-four players, twelve matches, and only one team can lift the trophy.

The Solheim Cup, after all, is just that: not just a golf competition, but a battle of teammates, emotions, pressure, and shots that can change everything in a matter of minutes.

Europe or the USA? Nordqvist or Stanford? Experience or fearless youngsters?
