Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra continues his climb in the world golf rankings, reaching number 39 following his victory at the DP World Tour event in India. This win has also propelled him to the top of the European circuit’s standings—the ‘Race to Dubai.’

This third title of the season moves Chacarra up eleven spots in the world rankings—from 50th to 39th—a significant jump considering he finished 2025 ranked 124th, according to the latest update released this Monday.

The 26-year-old from Madrid is currently in excellent form, which has placed him at the head of the DP World Tour rankings—ahead of American Patrick Reed and Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy—with three tournaments remaining: this week’s event in South Korea, followed by the season-ending tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai during the first half of November.

Chacarra is the first player to secure three titles on the European circuit in a single season since Poland’s Adrian Meronk achieved the feat in 2023; Chacarra’s previous wins this year came in the Netherlands and Italy back in June.

Jon Rahm remains the highest-ranked Spaniard, holding steady at 15th, while David Puig, from Catalonia, has dropped two places to 81st.

Outside the top 100 are Ángel Ayora (123), Nacho Elvira (125), Josele Ballester (137), and Sergio García (147).

The world rankings are once again led by American Scottie Scheffler, with an average of 16.67 points, ahead of McIlroy (8.3) and England’s Matt Fitzpatrick (7.1).

The rules of golf are relatively complex compared to those of other sports, as they apply in an outdoor setting, in close proximity to nature and wildlife. Adherence to the rules is a fundamental element of the game; because golf relies almost entirely on the players’ self-control and personal conscience, scores are frequently distorted—sometimes deliberately, but often unintentionally or due to carelessness—when players fail to follow the rules. In addition to the rules, golf follows a code of conduct known as «etiquette,» which generally entails playing the game with due respect for the golf course and fellow players. Etiquette is an essential component of the sport.
