Herbert, 30, ranked world No. 69, completely dominated the par-72 course at the JCB Golf & Country Club in Rocester. He began on Thursday with a magnificent opening round of 61 (-11), building on his stellar performance at The Open Championship, where he had previously equaled the lowest score in Grand Slam history (62).

The Australian played under par throughout the event; with a bogey-free round of 62 featuring 10 birdies on Sunday, he finished with a total of 258 strokes (30 under par). This broke the LIV Golf record of -26 previously shared by Rahm and DeChambeau—set last March in South Africa, where the American won in a playoff.

Herbert claimed victory by a six-stroke margin over England’s Tyrrell Hatton, who also played a superb bogey-free round with nine birdies (63). DeChambeau (68) finished third, nine strokes behind the champion—margins that highlight the Australian’s dominant performance in the English tournament.
