Brooks Koepka had a rough third day at the RBC Canadian Open.

I don’t know what the deal was but hopefully we’ll figure it out.“

However, Brooks hopes that a solution will be found for it. The 36-year-old revealed that everything happened when he came to the range and that it lasted all day. Although he felt better towards the end of the round, it seemed to be too late.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see what will really happen with Brooks Koepka and where the main problem lies regarding this player in the future.

“Yeah, the whole warm-up, I felt fine, I was absolutely good,“ he said.

“Then got to the range and went to grip the club and I just couldn’t even grip it. So it lasted — it was all day.

Felt better the last few holes. I don’t know if that’s just the meds kicked in or what it is. But hopefully we’ll figure it out now.“

The injury comes at the worst possible time, with the U.S. Open starting next week on the same course where Koepka won his second title at the event in 2018. 

His participation in this year’s Grand Slam is now in doubt and will depend on urgent medical examinations. The public is eagerly awaiting official announcements from his team, as he has a history of serious physical problems throughout his career, including knee surgery and a previous rupture of tendons in his left ankle.

The greatest concern was expressed by sports analysts and media outlets such as Golf Digest and Fox News, who called the situation «a huge and concerning blow» because the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills begins in just a few days. Since Koepka achieved a historic victory there in 2018, analysts point out that this timing is the worst possible for the five-time «Major» champion.

Fans and the golf community on social media immediately began to speculate about the severity of the injury based on the symptoms he described. Many followers who themselves experienced similar problems write that numbness in the little finger and ring finger clearly indicates ulnar nerve entrapment in the elbow (Ulnar Nerve Entrapment), and warn that such neurological disorders rarely resolve overnight without prolonged rest or even surgery. 

Another part of the fans expresses great regret because Koepka was just starting to get into great shape and was playing well and ranking highly in putting statistics before his hand completely gave out.

Brooks Koepka’s season

Brooks Koepka has been playing very consistent and steady golf in the 2026 season, but without a single victory, which is unusual for his high standards. His game this year is characterized by incredible precision with shots towards the flag, but he has been struggling with putting. So far, he has made the cut in 8 of the 11 tournaments he has played.

At the first major tournament of the year at Augusta National, he played very solidly and finished tied for 12th place with a score of 5-under par (-5).

On the Aronimink Golf Club, he played somewhat weaker in the final round (74 shots) and finished the tournament with a total score of +3.
