The DP World Tour continues its continental swing with a first: the first edition of the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel Tirol, scheduled for Thursday, May 28th to Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Club. This will be the 465th different venue in the tour’s history, a mountain layout nestled in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps, amid breathtaking views, lakes, and the famous Wilder Kaiser and Hahnenkamm peaks.

The par-70 course measures approximately 6,250 meters and offers a varied layout, with undulating fairways, numerous water hazards (including nearby Lake Schwarzsee), and strategically placed bunkers. The final six holes require particular precision and often decide the outcome of the tournament. After spending much of the year covered in snow, the course presents itself in ideal conditions in spring, offering a unique test of nature and technical challenge.

A year ago, at Gut Altentann, Nicolai von Dellingshausen earned his first DP World Tour victory with a masterful performance on the greens. Starting one shot off the lead, the German closed with a final round of 65 (-7) for a total of 19 under par, holding off a sensational 60 from Kristoffer Reitan. It was a thrilling victory for the German, returning from the HotelPlanner Tour after losing his card.

Sepp Straka, Ryder Cup hero and the first Austrian to win on the PGA Tour (four victories), returns to home soil. Straka hasn’t played a national event since 2018 and is still seeking his first title on the DP World Tour: «I’m thrilled to return to Austria for my national Open.
