Shipnuck revealed that he spoke with two agents, who wished to remain anonymous. They shared some interesting details.

«The contract we signed calls for 14 tournaments with purses of at least $25m,» the agent said.

«If they put together a smaller schedule for less money, which is obviously the only path forward, the contract we signed is voided.

At least, that’s how we see it. If they disagree, the lawyers are going to have to sort it out.”

Another agent shared the concern, noting that the situation is extremely complex given the many unknowns surrounding the contracts.

According to him, if there is a dispute, it is not clear which court would have jurisdiction. In addition, it is not known whether players would be able to continue playing normally or would be blocked until the entire dispute is resolved.

Would the players be able to play while this is getting decided or would they be put in some kind of enforced limbo?

Jon Rahm found himself in the center of public attention as questions emerged about LIV Golf’s future following the announcement that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) would stop financing the league after 2026.

When pressed by the media about the uncertainty surrounding the league’s future and the Saudis’ withdrawal, Rahm made statements that balanced professional casualness («that’s not my job») and the legal realities of his contract.

When the PIF officially announced in April 2026 that it was adopting a new five-year strategy and that it was completely suspending the financing of LIV Golf after the 2026 season, the public panicked. Rahm then tried to calm the situation at a press conference in Mexico

«Until the people in charge told me whether the rumors were true or not, for me, it didn’t make sense to think about it or waste time thinking about it. We were here; we knew we were going to play, so the idea was to prepare for a tournament. And that’s it.» he said.

As it became clear that the league urgently needed to find private investors to survive after 2026, reporters asked Rahm if the contract he signed (worth over $500 million) had a clause that allowed him to leave if the league collapsed. Rahm openly admitted that he was legally «trapped»:

While other players, like Bryson DeChambeau, are actively involved in finding new corporate sponsors to replace the Saudi money, Rahm made it clear that he is not interested in the business side of LIV.

There is no doubt that the situation within LIV remains very complex and full of unanswered questions. What is particularly fascinating is that it is not only the fans who are confused, but also the players themselves who are still not fully familiar with the details of their contracts.
