“Yeah, it was really special to have Mr. President come in and see us. He loves golf. He definitely loves it. He loved us as well,” Niemann said.

The Torque GC captain was also impressed by the way he and the other players were treated throughout the tournament. He praised the Trump family, the facilities at Bedminster and the overall experience provided to the competitors.

“It’s very nice the way that the whole family treats us, the players, the pros, the team, the amenities they have at the golf courses, the facilities, the food, everything is amazing.

It just shows how much it matters for him to be out here, especially how busy he is. Just for me, there’s a lot of appreciation for him just having his presence here.”

Trump was seen speaking to several influential figures during the final round, including major champion Gary Player and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the former chairman of LIV Golf and governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

His presence added another element to an important week for the league, but Niemann ensured that the attention eventually returned to the competition through another commanding display.

Niemann opened the tournament with a bogey-free seven-under 64 before following it with a 65 in the second round. Those two performances gave him control of the leaderboard, and rounds of 70 and 69 over the weekend were enough to complete the victory.

Niemann remains focused on further improvement

Winning nine LIV Golf events in only three years highlights Niemann’s consistency since joining the league in 2022. His victory total is especially impressive considering the number of major champions in the field, including DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Cameron Smith.

Niemann enjoyed a particularly successful 2025 campaign, winning five events and being named the league’s MVP by his fellow players. However, he narrowly missed out on the season-long individual title, which went to Rahm.

The Spaniard has once again claimed that honor in 2026. Rahm secured his third consecutive individual championship despite struggling in New York, where he finished in a tie for 41st at eight-over-par.

Niemann can no longer challenge Rahm for the overall title, but his latest victory moved him into third place in the standings. His focus is now on continuing to improve instead of spending too much time thinking about the points he can no longer recover.

“Obviously I can’t win the whole thing now, like you said, but I’m just, obviously for me as a player and knowing that I have many more years playing out here, I mean, for me just trying to figure out how can I get better the next day and then the day after and the week after and so on,” he said earlier in the tournament.

That attitude could be crucial for Niemann as he attempts to turn his LIV Golf dominance into greater success in the majors.

Although he has repeatedly shown that he can defeat great players, the Chilean is still searching for the first major championship of his career. His performances on LIV Golf have ensured that expectations remain high whenever he appears on golf’s biggest stages.
