With the bitter taste of the recent US Open, which resulted in one of the worst major tournament finishes of his career, Jon Rahm is moving forward and celebrating a milestone this Tuesday. It marks exactly ten years since he turned professional.

On June 23, 2016, after finishing his time at Arizona State University and after dominating the world amateur rankings, Rahm (10-11-1994) announced that he was turning professional. He had already debuted on the PGA Tour and was destined to be one of the great promises of world golf. A decade later, it can be said that those expectations have been more than fulfilled because Jon has become one of the leading figures internationally.

Ten years is a long time. In Rahm’s case, it’s been enough for twenty-four individual victories as a professional. At the forefront are his two majors, the 2021 US Open and the 2023 Masters Tournament. However, in addition to these individual titles, his three Ryder Cup victories (2018, 2023, and 2025) stand out, making Jon one of the leading figures in European golf.

Beyond these two majors, Rahm’s remaining twenty-two individual titles are spread across three tours. Nine of them came on the PGA Tour (for a total of eleven), eight on the DP World Tour (for a total of ten), and four on the LIV. The remaining title is a Hero World Challenge, which counts towards the world ranking but is not part of any of those tours.

Rahm’s meteoric career is rounded out by fifty-two weeks as world number one, a DP World Tour Race to Dubai title, and two LIV rings. His move to the Saudi circuit at the end of 2023, when he was one of the leading figures on the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, was a turning point in his career, but Jon remains firmly established as one of the biggest stars on the international scene.

Of course, these numbers have cemented his status as a legend of Spanish golf despite his youth. Rahm was the fourth Spaniard to win a major championship (after Seve Ballesteros, Txema Olazábal, and Sergio García), the second to be ranked number one in the world (after Seve), and the ninth to win the Ryder Cup (after Seve, Manuel Piñero, José María Cañizares, José Rivero, Olazábal, Ignacio Garrido, Sergio, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez).

His list of achievements also includes being the Spaniard with the most PGA Tour wins (tied with Sergio García at eleven, in Rahm’s case including two majors plus the other nine) and the fifth Spanish player with the most victories on the DP World Tour (ten wins, two majors and eight others: ahead of him are Seve with fifty, Olazábal with twenty-three, Jiménez with twenty-one, and Sergio with sixteen). He is also the second Spaniard to win the overall DP World Tour title (2019), a feat he accomplished by following in the footsteps of Seve Ballesteros with six victories.
