He legit, I think, thinks he had all the answers,” he said, as quoted by HITC.

“When we think about Bryson DeChambeau and his future in this game, it just seems like we would lose a player who feels like he’s got a lot to offer in this game, as far as chasing history. And I think he’s got enough talent to chase as much history as he wants. It’s going to require him to compete against the best players in the world. You can’t just play YouTube golf and play against these guys in major championships thinking you can win, without playing enough professional golf events.”

Kaufman points out that if Bryson DeChambeau is serious about his ultimate legacy in golf, he must be aware of the standards set by Ben Hogan, whom he often cites as his idol. He notes that if DeChambeau had researched Hogan’s career more, he would have realized how mentally and physically strong he was, and that his life story is one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

Smylie goes on to state that the return from YouTube golf to professional golf doesn’t compare to Hogan’s return from a serious car accident, but he still believes Bryson has a lot to offer at the professional level. Because of this, he would not like him to move to YouTube golf entirely, but would rather see him continue to play at the highest level, whether on the LIV Tour or elsewhere.

Kaufman concludes that a full transition to YouTube would have a negative impact on DeChambeau’s status in professional golf, as he would have a hard time remaining among the best players in the world. That’s exactly why he doesn’t want to see Bryson step away from elite competition entirely.

Bryson DeChambeau along with John Rahm is one of the strongest names in the LIV League, which could experience a collapse at the end of the season. This immediately raises the question of whether this famous duo will return to where it all started.
