Emanuele Canonica delivered a strong performance in the Staysure English Legends, finishing sixth with a 211 (70, 73, 68, -5) and securing his third top ten finish of the season on the Staysure Legends Tour.

On the par-72 Chart Hills Golf Club course in Biddenden, England, Sweden’s Mikael Lundberg, 53, from Helsingborg, dominated. He won his first title on the tour with a 204 (67, 65, 72, -12) after having scored three career titles on the DP World Tour, three on the HotelPlanner Tour, two on the EuroPro Tour, two in the Nordic Golf League, one on the Swedish Golf Tour, and one off-tour.

He finished the competition with a par-72, having secured victory with three birdies, against one bogey, on the first five holes and then allowing himself the luxury of two bogeys on the return leg. He edged out Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher, second with a 206 (-10), by two strokes, and outscored Brazil’s Adilson Da Silva, England’s Simon Griffiths, and Lee Westwood, the latter a member of LIV Golf, who was the most popular player in the pre-match predictions, by five strokes.

Joining the Italian are Welshman Bradley Dredge and Dutchman Maarten Lafeber, while New Zealand’s Mark Brown and Sweden’s Michael Jonzon are in ninth place with a 212 (-4).

Emanuele Canonica shot a 68 (-4, six birdies, two bogeys) in the final round, his second-best result of the year, after finishing third in the OFX Irish Legends in Ireland and seventh in the ISPS Handa Senior Open in Scotland.
