Enrico Di Nitto achieved his fourth Alps Tour victory and the fourth of the season for the Italian team on the circuit at the Alpes de Andalucia-Roquetas de Mar in Almeria, Spain, following Andrea Romano’s three wins.

On the par-70 Club de Golf Playa Serena course, he shot a 209 (72 67 70, -1), drawing level with Englishman Mason Essam (209 – 66 68 75), who was five shots ahead after two rounds, and then overtook him on the third play-off hole. Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela and France’s Paul Franquet, third with 210 (par), missed out on the playoff by one stroke. The Italian triumph was rounded out by Marco Florioli and Manfredi Manica finishing fifth with 211 (+1), joined by Spain’s Victor Garcia Broto, and Ludovico Addabbo finishing eighth with 213 (+3), who won the PGA Aroeira Challenge on the Mena Golf Tour in November. Irishman Sam Murphy, Dutchman Lars Keunen, and Spain’s Eduard Rousaud also finished in eighth place.

Alessandro Nodari, 17th with a 215 (+5), Giovanni Manzoni, 36th with a 220 (+10), Filippo Grossi, 40th with a 221 (+11), and Luca Memeo, 43rd with a 222 (+12), cashed in.

Enrico Di Nitto, a 33-year-old from Rome, secured the second consecutive victory for the Italians in this competition, following Romano’s victory last year. Both he and Essam struggled to get off to a particularly difficult start in the final round. The Roman bogeyed three holes on the first five, while the Englishman made four after nine, before adding another for a 75 (+5). Di Nitto recovered with three birdies, but with his fourth bogey of the day, he found himself one shot behind on the final green. However, with a birdie, he forced his opponent into a playoff, where he prevailed, receiving a check for €7,900 out of a €54,000 prize pool. In addition to his Alps Tour titles, Di Nitto has won two in the National Open Championship (2017, 2023).

In the order of merit, where Romano (28,873 points) leads Frenchman Maxime Legros (26,978 points), a statistic only since they are now both on the HotelPlanner Tour after three titles this year, Di Nitto rose from 14th to fifth place (15,949 points), a position that would grant him access to the higher circuit at the end of the season.
