American golfer Tiger Woods was granted bail a few hours after his Land Rover was involved in a traffic accident, and Woods was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensik, Woods was driving «at a high rate of speed» and showed «signs of impairment» after the crash, the AP reported.

Investigators believe he took some type of medication or drug. Woods refused a urine test, but agreed to a breathalyzer, which showed no alcohol.

«He won’t be with other inmates who might hurt him or try to take advantage of what he did,» Budensik said.

Woods, who was not injured in the accident, was hit by a truck while trying to overtake it, and his car overturned.

The sheriff stated that Woods is «cooperating, but not trying to incriminate himself».

During the investigation, a damaged Land Rover was seized, and Woods’ manager at Excel Sports did not comment on the incident. This is the second time Woods has been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

Earlier, in 2017, he was found asleep at the wheel of a car, when he admitted to taking a combination of painkillers.

The golfer, who is returning to his career after multiple back surgeries, is currently considering participating in the Masters, which begins on April 9, and participating in other golf projects.

Woods won 15 majors and 82 PGA Tour titles in his career.

US President Donald Trump commented on the incident, saying that he «feels bad» about his friend’s problem.
