“We keep talking about the DP World Tour and trying to figure out a solution that works best. I didn’t think that going the legal route and going to court was good for anybody,” Rahm said Tuesday.

“I have faith in us and the DP World Tour. We’re going to find a good solution for both of us.”

The Spaniard has withdrawn his appeal against the fines, but is still not ready to pay them, and wants to continue negotiations with the officials of the DP World Tour to find a solution that will suit both him and the DP World Tour. 

He is not sure if he will play before September, but he stresses that he is ready to give in on some things and believes that he will make progress in the coming months.

Jon Rahm has never hidden his passion and love for the DP World Tour, the place where many top golfers began their careers. He emphasizes that he will continue to support the Tour in the future, and is grateful for the opportunity to play in prestigious tournaments. 

“I truly don’t know. I’m not planning to play until September. So that’s a bit of a positive. If I were unable right now, it doesn’t matter,” Rahm said.

“We keep talking to them, and we keep trying to negotiate. I have given in quite a bit in a few things.

“We’re going to work it out. It’s going to work out. The DP World Tour is doing what they need to do and following the channels they need to follow, but I’m confident this will be sorted out before I tee it up in September.”

Jon Rahm hopes to play at the Irish Open, as well as at several other major tournaments that are significant for fans in Europe and beyond. However, he must remain focused on LIV Golf, aware that a loss of focus could create career problems.

“I do intend to continue to support the DP World Tour”, said Rahm. “I’ve been very thankful to be a member. I’ve been very thankful to support the Tour and play some wonderful events.

“The Irish Open has been very good to me, and I would love to make a return. Wentworth has been fantastic every single year, the Spanish Open, maybe even the Dunhill. We have some events like the French Open and the Omega. Those are events that I’d love to have the chance to play.”

Jon Rahm: Happy to have two weeks off

Rahm is satisfied with the break he took, as it allowed him to make certain changes to his game, and he is now optimistic about the continuation of the season, in which he aims to compete for trophies again.

Last year, he won the LIV league, dominating a large number of tournaments.

«Happy to have two weeks off in this time and kind of reassure that what I’ve been working on is the right things,” Rahm said.

“Having the time off was really nice. Over the three months, I could definitely think about what I could improve on,” he said.

«I did a lot of good work, and I think that set the base for how I’ve played this year.”

The Spanish golfer thus found himself in a difficult situation, but by joining LIV Golf he knew what consequences would follow. While his colleagues decided to accept LIV Golf’s offer and thus pay their fines, the Spaniard wants to take another path. 

Some fans see this as a brave decision, while others consider it an egotistical decision that could have negative consequences for Rahm.

The experienced golfer does not want to get too involved in various controversies, but wants to make the right decision in the coming weeks of negotiations with the officials of the DP World Tour.
