Honestly, what I was telling myself was that I really want to hoist this trophy because I want to show the kids at home that it’s okay to miss short putts and still win a major championship.

You’re going to make mistakes but mentally, you still have to be at 100 per cent. That’s really what I wanted to show. I wanted to show it to myself and also anyone else looking up to me.“

This is the reason why we expect top performances from her already in the coming weeks with the hope that she will really give her maximum.

Charley Hull reacts

Charley Hull, an English golfer, posted a message on Instagram after the tournament, and was among the many golf figures who congratulated her on the victory. 

She primarily thanked The Chevron Championship for the great start to the season, while afterwards she also congratulated Nelly Korda for a great game.

Charley Hull is a three-time winner of the LPGA Tour, while Korda reached her 17th professional victory with this title.

After this victory, Nelly Korda will return to the first place of the world LPGA golf ranking. 

That position was taken over by Thitikul in August 2025, but the American quickly showed that she has to raise the level of her game if she wants to stay at the very top.

With this victory, Korda won two points for the LPGA Hall of Fame, and she needs only five more to join the golf legends.
