Hannah Green captured the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro with a remarkable comeback on the final day, winning for the third time in four years and for the first time at El Caballero Country Club.

Starting significantly behind, the Australian closed the final round with an excellent 68 (-4) and reached the playoff at 17 under par, alongside Sei Young Kim and Jin Hee Im. “I had already had that putt, or one very similar, during the regular round, so I felt pretty comfortable,” Green commented. “It was still a tough putt; I’m so happy it went in.”

The key moment in her comeback came on the back nine. After trailing her playing partner Sei Young Kim by six shots around the 11th hole (where Kim had chipped in for an eagle), Green responded with an early birdie and then strung together a series of birdies to close the gap. She tied the score when Kim bogeyed the par-3 17th, while Im took center stage with an eagle from over 60 feet on the 16th.

Green, 29, thus brought her career victories on the LPGA Tour to eight and her world championships to four in 2026 (following the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore, the Australian Open, and the Australian WPGA). She joined Hyo Joo Kim as the only player with two Tour wins this season.

Sei Young Kim, who had led the tournament for much of the weekend and was two shots ahead going into the final round, admitted: «I’m a little disappointed because I had a good chance to win. But she played very well, with an incredible finish on her second shots.»

The two Italian players in the competition failed to make the cut: Carolina Melgrati closed the first two rounds with 74-70, while Benedetta Moresco scored 72-74. Both players ended their participation in the Californian event prematurely.

Among the other protagonists, Ina Yoon missed the playoff by just one shot after a final 69, while amateur Asterisk Talley (17) finished tied for 13th at -9, gaining valuable experience among the pros.

The tournament was played at El Caballero for the second consecutive year due to renovations at Wilshire Country Club. Next week, the LPGA Tour moves to Houston for the Chevron Championship, the first major of the season.
