Wiesberger, a 40-year-old from Vienna, secured his ninth victory on the DP World Tour (he won the 2019 Italian Open), adding to a list of victories that also includes one on the Asian Tour, another combined with the continental circuit, and two on the HotelPlanner Tour. He began the final round one shot behind Otaegui and overtook him with a 67 (-4, four birdies), partly due to his own merit and partly due to his opponent’s slump. After four birdies in 11 holes, he then let him go with two bogeys and a double bogey (71, par). The Austrian was rewarded with a check for $467,500 on a prize pool of $2,750,000.

In fourth place with a 271 (-13) is South Africa’s Shaun Norris, in fifth with a 272 (-12) is Germany’s Freddy Schott, in sixth with a 273 (-11) are England’s Nathan Kimsey and France’s Tom Vaillant, and among the five competitors, in eighth place with a 274 (-10) is China’s Ashun Wu, the defending champion.
