When you fly to Europe, you lose a day, and that’s why it was the only opportunity I had to arrive in time to get some rest and practice on the course,” the Spanish golfer explained on social media.

Chacarra, who provided more details about his trip and his decision to forgo an alternate spot at the US Open, said: “I had flights booked for my team and me at 9:30 PM, and the playoff ended at 7:50 PM. Playing in majors is very important to me, but at this stage of my career, playing well in Europe to earn my PGA Tour card is the main goal. To be prepared for Belgium, it was best to leave the playoff so I could catch the flight. It was a long flight that lasted all day, and I learned a lot about how to position myself to win tournaments or advance in qualifying events. I’m still learning and trying to improve. I have a long way to go, but I’m working hard to get there, and I know great things are coming. I tried to qualify, but it wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t worth missing my flight and my team’s for an alternate spot I wasn’t even sure I would get.
