Brooks Koepka has been considered one of the main assets of LIV Golf for the last couple of years.

If it really comes to that, there is little chance that LIV Golf will be able to keep the famous players, because it is likely that most of the important figures will leave this project. 

The LIV golfers were a bit reserved after the last tournament in Mexico, saying that they didn’t want to talk too much about it, but that their main focus was on the tournaments that follow. 

CEO Scott O’Neil said that even if funding from the Saudis ends, they have to find a way to continue.

However, most are not optimistic that there will actually be a positive scenario within this league. 

Brooks Koepka reacts

Brooks Koepka answered a reporter’s question in a conversation with the media at The Zurich Classic. 

They were interested in what Koepka thinks about the situation regarding LIV Golf and whether he talked with former colleagues. The experienced golfer did not want to delve deeper into the rumours, but focused on the upcoming tournaments.

“Yeah, I’m not there, so I can’t speak for anything they’re doing,” Koepka said.

“I’ve talked to a few guys just through text, but that’s it. Everybody seems — as long as everybody is okay, we’re okay.“

It is clear that LIV Golf is in a difficult situation with a lot of uncertainty about the future. Finding new investors who are willing to invest similar money will be really difficult, but Scott O’Neil and his associates still have to remain optimistic. 

If there really is a collapse of the controversial league, fans expect the return of some LIV stars like Jon Rahm or Bryson DeChambeau. 

The Spaniard did not talk too much about this topic, aware that sometimes it is better to avoid such topics and leave it to the leaders of this product to find a solution.

Bryson DeChambeau reacts

Speaking to the media, Bryson DeChambeau pointed out that, regardless of the rumors circulating, he is fully focused on LIV Golf, with the desire to help this league achieve its goals. 

A little earlier, Scott O’Neil spoke specifically about the PIF and Bryson DeChambeau, saying that the famous golfer has shown loyalty to this project many times so far.

Although his contract expires at the end of this season, Bryson revealed that he is in talks with LIV Golf leaders about a new deal. The 32-year-old notes that the right solution to the current problems will be found. 

Among other things, he feels a sense of responsibility regarding LIV, saying that he has put a lot of effort into this project. 

«We’re still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution,» DeChambeau said. «But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility. I’ve put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do. We’re going to make this work.»

When asked what will happen if LIV Golf does not find a mutual agreement related to the contract, Bryson said that as long as LIV Golf exists, he feels an obligation to do everything he can to make sure LIV Golf endures past 2026.

Such words certainly inspire confidence among fans of this product. While a large number of fans are on the side of the PGA Tour, there is a smaller group that firmly supports this idea, considering LIV to be an example of how golf should look in the future and how it should evolve. 

Whether Bryson will keep his word or eventually return to the PGA Tour remains to be seen.

A lot of new information could surface in the next few days. While mostly LIV leaders are calling for calm, it’s hard to remain optimistic for some of LIV’s fans who feel that the latest information is a sign of something really bad.
