Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport after the ceremony, the Spanish tennis player spoke about many topics of great interest to tennis fans. Among the important topics were his rivalry with Jannik Sinner, the number of Grand Slams, as well as his future ambitions.

However, one of the topics was also of interest to golf fans. 

Namely, last night at the ceremony, Rory McIlroy was also presented, winning a prestigious award. 

Reporters pointed out to Carlos that golf is a popular sport among tennis players, asking him if he knew that Jannik also trains to challenge him on the golf courses.

He said that they have met several times in the locker room so far, talking about golf and the courses, as well as places where they could play a few rounds. 

He added that they agreed to play golf matches one day, although he admits that he is not training much at the moment. However, Carlos shared that he is currently also into karting, and that Jannik should watch out because he is improving.

«I know, I’ve seen him several times. When I meet him in the locker room or with his team, we talk a lot about golf, about courses, where I have played, where we should play. We have a great time. We always promise to try, to go together between tournaments. Right now I am not training much, but I am in karting: watch out Jannik, I am improving and we will race each other on the track too. Not on the ski track though.’” he said, as translated by La Gazeta dello Sport.

Carlos Alcaraz also touched on their rivalry on the tennis courts, saying that Sinner is the reason why he has improved so much. 

According to the Spaniard, the two have a great relationship both on and off the court, and that they are each other’s great motivation.

The Spanish tennis player has visited golf courses before, and there are many photos that he shared on social media.

Alcaraz had the opportunity to play against some of the top golfers, but also to hang out  on golf courses with tennis players like Roger Federer. It seems that the Spaniard is constantly improving his game on the golf courses.

When asked by the reporter if he would rather play against Fish or Roddick, Alcaraz had an interesting answer.

«I would love to play against them. My level is not that good yet, but I’m getting there. But, you know, I was able to play here with, you know, a few players.

I went to play with Taylor. I went to play with Sascha. We cannot play 18 holes, but having time and then playing some holes with them, it was really, really good.

You know, I still working on my game to play with those guys. I know Mardy Fish or Andy Roddick is playing such great golf. I will be there, and I will challenge them..» he said.

Golf as an opportunity to relax

Many tennis players use their free time to spend on the golf course. 

This sport is not played only by tennis players, but also by many other sportsmen such as football players, in order to spend their time relaxed and in various activities, enjoying the experience. 

They enjoy the day with their friends, and at the same time have fun on the golf courses.
